As part of a five (5) nation visit in Africa, the UN Youth Envoy is completing her mission in South Africa, where she is meeting with young people and stakeholders in the Youth Development space. The interactions seek to expand on the challenges young people face, drawing from the experiences and work being done in South Africa.

Speaking to Tali Munzhedzi during an interview on Ubuntu Radio South Africa, the Youth Envoy recalled her mission across Africa, noting the issues raised by young people, particularly the challenges of harmful practices such as child marriage and female genital mutilation and how much these violate the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young girls. She also noted the drive for innovation and leadership among young people across the countries she visited during the mission.

Drawing from the experiences from her childhood, the interview also looked at the road to the appointment to become the UN Youth Envoy and key lessons she has had, particularly as a result of her mission.
