On 12 March 2021 young girls from Jongilanga High School in Kwelerha in the Eastern Cape received sanitary dignity products to ensure girls stay in school during their menstrual cycles.

The gesture of goodwill, said Nkosi Mavuso, was born out of a donation of five hundred and fifty-six (556) boxes of sanitary dignity towels made last year by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to the Eastern Cape House of Traditional Leaders (ECHTL). The distribution was done in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Education focusing on eleven (11) Districts and Buffalo City Metro.

COGTA MEC Xolile Nqatha in the Eastern Cape together with Nkosi Mavuso, Acting Chairperson of EC House of Traditional Leaders, handed over sanitary dignity products for girls. The donation is set to benefit 22 schools in the province.
