This report, conducted by the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), provides a critical analysis of the South African Government's investment in the Sanitary Dignity Programme (SDP) from 2019 to 2024. The SDP aims to mitigate period poverty by ensuring learners in non-fee-paying schools (quintiles 1, 2, and 3), farm schools, and special-needs schools have access to essential sanitary products, ensuring uninterrupted school attendance.
